What is the application process like?
Easy as pie. Once you complete the short online form, the Board of Directors will review your application and notify you of their decision via email. We do our best to respond within a month. If you are accepted, you will be prompted to pay your dues through PayPal in order to activate your membership and start enjoying the benefits.
How long is my membership valid?
One year from the date you activate your membership (read: pay your dues). It is renewable each year as long as you continue to meet our eligibility criteria.
How do I renew my membership each year?
You will be notified via email that your membership is set to expire, prompting you to complete an online renewal form and pay your dues for the next year.
Can I rejoin if my membership has lapsed?
Yes, you’ll just need to submit a new application in order to be readmitted.
What happens if I move away from New York or take a new job outside of journalism?
We will honor your membership for the remainder of the year, but you will not be eligible to renew.
If my application is not accepted, can I reapply later?
Yes, should you come to meet our membership criteria down the road, we encourage you to reapply.
